Scale Free is a puzzling adventure where you, as Scale the Lizard, are trapped in a mysterious maze called the Vivarium. With nothing but your wits and a growing set of abilities, you’ll crawl, leap, and glide your way through a labyrinth of twists and turns. The deeper you explore, the more powers you unlock—just don’t get too cozy, because the maze is full of surprises. Can you find your way out before you’re completely out of scales?
What solution will you use?
In Scale Free every corner of the maze holds a new puzzle, and there’s never just one way to solve them. As you explore, you'll discover obstacles like locked gates, impassable walls, tricky platforms, and shifting pathways. The twist? You unlock new abilities like wall-scaling, crawling, gliding, and many more as you venture deeper into the maze. Each new ability opens up new ways to approach problems, giving you the freedom to experiment and figure out your own solutions.
One player might use their wall-climbing ability to scale the side of a towering structure, while another might figure out how to leap over a seemingly impossible gap. You might encounter a puzzle that requires precise timing, and some might need you to outsmart the maze itself by using your environment in clever ways.
The beauty of the game lies in the fact that there’s no "right" way to escape. Some solutions are faster, others are sneakier, and some might even require a bit of trial and error. Whether you’re racing against the clock or taking your time to unravel every twist, the maze is your playground, and it’s up to you to decide how to conquer it.
Scale
Scaling allows you to climb walls to uncover previously inaccessible routes, and even hidden secrets.
Crawl
Crawling allows you to sneak under dangerous obstacles, as well as withstand gusts of wind and remain steadfast in place.
Glide
Gliding allows you to reach further places than just jumping will allow, use it wisely to improve the way you traverse the maze.
